Preservation DataStore (PDS), is an OAIS-based preservation-aware storage, which is built in different layers, each based on open standards, and supports both bit preservation and logical preservation.
This presentation shows the PDS architecture, its features and the preservation process of an Archival Information Package (AIP). A demo, using data coming from CASPAR scientific testbeds, shows the three phases of the ingest, the access and the preservation process and how PDS, together with other components, support the continuous usability and intelligibility of data by enabling people to load and execute transformation modules and at the same time maintaining the metadata sections of the AIP.
