Advanced Computer Systems A.C.S. is an Italian software house, specialized in high tech software development and system engineering. The headquarters are located in Rome and a research centre is located in Matera, Italy.
The company was founded in 1979. Its initial activity was focused on developing systems for treating Earth Observation data transmitted by satellites. Today Advanced Computer Systems is a world renowned technology provider in the Remote Sensing field: its systems and applications are installed in 21 states throughout all continents.
ACS staff operates in all these countries both directly or through local partners. Advanced Computer Systems can count on more than 100 employees organised in two divisions.
ACS Space Division is the National and International remote sensing market leader and the point of reference for the realisation of satellite data ground station acquisition, processing and archiving chains. Among its clients the division counts European Space Agency (ESA), Italian Space Agency (ASI) and many other National Space Agencies.
ACS Space applications use as input standard products generated by Ground Segments to supply high value added products with specific thematic information, concerning:

ACS Studio Division is active in the field of real-time 3D/4D applications, focusing on the implementation of Virtual Reality solutions for the exploitation of large data archives. Furthermore, the division produces virtual sets for popular scientific television programmes and 3D reconstructions of archaeological sites; it also applies Virtual Reality technologies to support monitoring and evaluation of environmental studies.
In CASPAR, ACS will act as SW designer and developer and as system integrator. ACS will thus contribute to the implementation of the overall SW system and to the development and integration of the Virtual Reality tools in the system.
